FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is MIC?

MIC (Metal Information Cards) provides durable, laser-engraved emergency information products designed to keep your critical details accessible when it matters most.

What information should I include?

We recommend including:
Emergency contact Name
Medical conditions
Allergies
Medications
Blood type

Keep it clear and easy to read for fast access, although you don't have to add all of those options.

What’s the difference between the card and the tag?

MIC Card → Fits in your wallet, holds more detailed information
MIC Tag → Compact, attaches to keys/gear for constant visibility
You don’t need both, but using both ensures your information is always accessible—whether you're carrying a wallet or not.

The Best option: use both for full coverage.

Will first responders know what it is?

MIC products use clear symbols and layouts (like emergency contact and medical info to make recognition as intuitive as possible.

Can I change my information later?

Since engraving is permanent, updates require a new card or tag.

Do you verify the information I submit?

No. All information is submitted by the customer, so it’s important to double-check everything before ordering

Is my information secure?

Yes. Your information is only used for engraving your product and is not shared or stored beyond order fulfillment.

Why not just use my phone?

Phones can:

  • Lock
  • Break
  • Run out of battery

MIC provides instant, always-accessible information—no tech required.

How do I find my blood type?

Your blood type can typically be found by:

  • Asking your doctor
  • Checking past medical records
  • Donating blood (they will tell you your type)

If you're unsure, it’s best to leave it off rather than include incorrect information.

Does the size of the lettering change depending on the information?

Yes. The engraving is adjusted based on the amount of information you include.

More information will result in slightly smaller text to ensure everything fits clearly and remains readable. With less information, the text will be slightly bigger.
